How does SBC define end-of-life care?

End-of-life care applies to individuals (guests) in the terminal stage of an illness, or a condition with an anticipated life expectancy of about a year. SBC’s end-of-life care is intended to enable guests to live as well as possible, along with bringing peace, calm and beauty to their end-of-life journey.

What is a respite?

A respite is a short period of rest, relief, or a break from something difficult, tiresome, painful, or complicated. Specifically, SBC seeks to provide “respite” for guests and their loved ones over a 1-2 week period of time providing care, comfort, and time for addressing end-of-life decisions.
